SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Senior
Lauren Houston and sophomore
Emily Johnson are two of 116 student-athletes recognized as members of the Outdoor Track & Field All-Summit League Team today.
It's the third career honor for Houston and the first for Johnson. Student-athletes earn the honor by finishing in the top three in an event at the outdoor championships.
Houston finished third in the 800 meters at last weekend's outdoor championship in Macomb, Ill. with a time of 2:09.62. The Omaha native had previously earned All-Summit recognition with second-place finishes in the 800 meters both indoors and outdoors in 2018.
Houston finished her UNO career owning the school's third-best 800 meters times both indoors and outdoors.
Johnson set a school record in the 10,000 meters and finished second in the championships with a time of 36:02.12. It was the first of two school records for the Elkhorn native who also broke her own school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:51.56, good for sixth place.
Johnson also earned All-Summit recognition in the fall when she finished in the top 10 at the Summit Cross Country Championships.
