OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team lost a 5-2 decision to North Dakota on Sunday at the Westside Tennis Courts.  The Mavericks dropped to 8-13 overall and 1-3 in Summit League action, while the Fighting Hawks moved to 10-7 (2-1).

North Dakota took two of three doubles matches to earn the point.  Hugo Piles Ballester and Ethan Henry gave Omaha the early lead with a 6-4 win on court three.  On court one, Davis Lawley and Nathan Reekie lost 6-2 to even things at 1-1.  UND took the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Fighting Hawks raced out to an early 3-0 lead with singles wins on court two and three.  Abdoul Ouattara put the Mavericks on the board with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Nejc Sitar on court one.  UND clinched the match with wins on courts five and six.

Lawley wrapped up the day with a split set win over Jake Kuhlman on court four.  He won the first set 7-6 (5), before dropping the second set 6-3.  The freshman rallied to take the final set 6-2.

Omaha hits the road for a pair of matches next weekend.  The Mavericks play Summit League foe Valparaiso on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. before  visiting No. 18 Notre Dame on Sunday at 4 p.m.
