PEORIA, Ill. – The Omaha women's tennis program earned a 5-2 win over Eastern Illinois Sunday, Feb. 3.

After the loss to Bradley, the Mavericks bounced back the following day to earn their second dual win of the non-conference season.

"This was a great turnaround from yesterday," said head coach Adam Summitt. "The big thing today was making less errors and finishing points, games and sets off. The ladies executed that in their matches. I felt that we just didn't let Eastern get any rhythm and we just took control. It was a great effort and we hope that can continue."

The Mavericks opened with the doubles point after Janelle Wilson and Emily Behling earned a 6-4 win at No. 2, and Marie Kapelevich and Clare Crockett won at No. 3, 6-2.

In singles action, the Mavericks clinched the match after wins on courts two through five. After Eastern Illinois tied the match at 1-1, Emily Behling earned the second point for the Mavericks with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4. Eastern tied it up at 2-2 on No. 6, but the Mavericks took the lead after Savanna Crowell won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5.

To close out the win, Ines Absisan won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 for the fourth point, followed by Marie Kapelevich at No. 3 with a three-set win (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (9)).

The Mavericks return to action with a pair of home matches on Feb. 9. Omaha takes on UMKC at noon, followed by a 5 p.m. matchup against McPherson College.
