SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha swimming and diving program placed 10 members on the All-Summit list, the league announced Tuesday, Feb. 26.
All-Summit League teams recognize the top three times in each event and the top three diving scores at the championship.
Kirsten Kracke earned All-Summit Honors in five different events: the 200 medley Relay, 200 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay, 100 backstroke and 400 free relay.
Rachel Morrow earned the second-most All-Summit honors after she garnered top-3 performances in four events. The junior earned league recognition in the 800 free relay, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and the 400 free relay.
A duo of Mavericks earned All-Summit honors in three events.
Madison Ewald was recognized in the 200 medley relay and
Anna Capoun for the 800 free relay. Both also earned All-Summit honors in the 200 and 400 freestyle relay.
Bethany Gatlin garnered All-Summit in the 200 and 400 medley relay, while
Abbey Mitchell (200 medley relay),
Kylie Vermeire (800 free relay),
Lizzy Giese (800 free relay),
Grete Baker (400 medley relay) and
Jacquelyn Gaworski (1-meter dive) also earned All-Summit recognition.
"It was another great year for our team," said head coach
Todd Samland. "The relay success was an essential component to our team success. Also, our diving core has done such an outstanding job this year and congrats to Jacquelyn for making it to the All-Summit team as well."
In addition, Samland was also selected as The Summit League Women's Swimming Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
