Women's Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. – The Omaha women's tennis program fell 6-1 Saturday morning at Bradley.

In doubles, Ines Absisan and Janelle Wilson fell 6-1 to Bradley's Natalia Barbery and Sandra Maletin at No.1. At No. 2, the Braves' Bozana Lojpur and Malini Wijesinghe defeated Omaha's Savanna Crowell and Marie Kapelevich 6-3. The match between Rylee Tucker and Emily Behling against Bradley's Nikki Perlwitz and Nina Marjanovic was left unfinished at 5-5.

With the doubles point, Bradley earned wins in singles at courts one, three, four, five and six, while Janelle Wilson picked up the lone Omaha point at No. 2. Wilson defeated Loipur 7-6 (8), 1-6, 1-0 (8) in three sets to pick up the point.

Absisan fell 6-2, 6-1 to Maletin at No. 1, while Kapelevich dropped a 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (2) match in three sets to Bradley's Wijesinghe at No. 3. On No. 4, Behling fell 6-3, 6-2 to Barbery, while Crowell was edged in a close, three-set decision to Bradley's Marjanovic, 7-6 (4), 1-6, 1-0 (10), at No. 5. At No. 6, Rylee Tucker fell 6-1, 6-3 to the Braves' Perlwitz.

The Mavericks stay in Peoria as they turn around and look to bounce back against Eastern Illinois. The match is set for a 10 a.m. start time. For more information, visit OMavs.com.
