SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Omaha women's tennis program fell 4-0 to Southeast Missouri Sunday morning in its final match of the weekend.
The Mavericks (3-7) fell in doubles on No. 2 when
Janelle Wilson and
Ines Absisan dropped a 6-4 decision, while
Emily Behling and
Marie Kapelevich fell on No. 3, 7-5.
Down 1-0 in the match, Omaha tried to cover the ground but the Redhawks were able to win on courts No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 in singles play to clinch the match.
On No. 2, Wilson fell 6-3, 6-3, while Behling was topped 6-2, 6-3 on No. 4. At No. 6,
Clare Crockett fell 6-1, 6-1.
The Mavericks return to dual match action next weekend against Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 23, and at Drake Sunday, Feb. 24. The start times are set for 1 p.m. and 9 a.m. in Des Moines, Iowa. For more information visit OMavs.com.
