Women's Tennis Slips at Missouri State, 4-3

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Missouri State on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Mavericks fall to 3-6 overall while the Bears improve to 4-0 in dual action.

In doubles, Omaha took a 1-0 match lead after victories by Natalie Lorentz and Savanna Crowell at No. 1 (7-5) and Ines Absisan and Janelle Wilson at No. 2 (6-4) to clinch the point.

For singles, the Mavericks gained victories at No. 1 and No. 2, but the Bears were able to take the win with wins on courts three through six. Absisan won her match at No. 1 (7-6 (10-5), 6-2) and Wilson won on No. 2 (7-5, 6-4).

At No. 3, Lorentz dropped a three-set match to Missouri State's Fati Khamissi (6-7 (10-7), 6-3, 6-2), while Crowell fell in three sets (6-3, 7-6 (10-4) at No. 5 to Clara Gand-Gonzalez.

The Mavericks return to action tomorrow at 9 a.m. in Springfield, Mo., with a neutral-site match against Southeast Missouri.
