Omaha Advances With 3-1 Win Over NDSU

DENVER, COLO. – The Omaha volleyball program picked up a four-set win over No. 5 seed North Dakota State in the quarterfinal round of The Summit League Volleyball Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare.

The Mavericks (18-13) defeated the Bison (13-16) by a score of 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-18, 25-17) and advanced to the semifinal round tomorrow.

NOTES
•    Omaha gets over the hump and defeats North Dakota State after falling to them in the opening round back-to-back years.
•    The Mavericks also complete the season sweep over the Bison.
•    Isabella Sade recorded a match-high 21 kills on .417 hitting. It marked her fourth 20-plus kill effort this season.
•    Sadie Limback (16) and Anna Blaschko (11) followed with double-digit kills.
•    Sami Clarkson notched 55 assists – her 10th 50-plus assist match this season.
•    As a team, Omaha hit a .308 clip.

INSIDE SET ONE
Omaha led early, 5-3 after a kill from Blaschko. The Mavericks kept up the lead and held an 11-9 advantage after Limback recorded her first kill of the match. An Omaha run forced an NDSU timeout after the team extended its lead at 13-9. A late Bison run cut Omaha's lead at 16-14, but the Mavericks did not waiver. A block assist and a kill from Sade extended Omaha's lead to 21-17. From there, Omaha cruised to a 25-18 opening-set win.

INSIDE SET TWO
With the score tied up at 5-all, Omaha eventually led 8-6 after a pair of Blaschko kills. The Bison, however, took control of the set and led by as many as six (19-13) in the match. Omaha rallied back and eventually tied the score up at 23-all. Despite stopping the Bison's set point opportunity with back-to-back Limback kills, the Bison secured the point with a 26-24 win, and tied the match at 1-1.

INSIDE SET THREE
Omaha rallied in the third set by an identical score as the first, 25-18. A block assist from Rylee Marshall and Limback put Omaha ahead 9-7. Later on, an ace by Erin Williams gave the Mavericks a 15-12 lead over NDSU. The turning point proved to be another big block by Marshall that capped off an Omaha run and put the team ahead 21-17. It was all Mavericks after that as the team took back the lead with the seven-point win.

INSIDE SET FOUR
The Mavericks carried their momentum over into the final set as they jumped out to a 10-5 lead and forced an NDSU timeout. Omaha eventually extended its lead to 17-12 over the Bison and eventually 20-15. Omaha capped off the four-set win with a kill by Limback for the match point.
