Five Mavericks Earn All-Summit Recognition

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Five Mavericks from the Omaha volleyball program garnered All-Summit recognition, the league office announced Thursday, Nov. 21. 

Isabella Sade, Anna Blaschko, Sadie Limback and Sami Clarkson earned All-Summit honors, while Claire Mountjoy was named All-Summit Honorable Mention. Clarkson also earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. 

Sade finishes the 2019 season with All-Summit honors for the second-straight year. Sade finished the regular season campaign with 3.55 kills per set in league play, which ranked fourth. Over the course of conference play, Sade racked up 3.55 kills per set. She also had double-digit kills in 13 of the 16 league matches. 

Blaschko earned her first-career All-Summit award after finishing the season with the top hitting percentage in the conference at .396. The Shakopee, Minn., native averaged 3.00 kills per set in league play and 0.79 blocks per set. She also ranked ninth in total blocks (48) 10th in total kills (183). Blaschko also had a .300 or better hitting percentage in 14 of the 16 league matches, hit .400 or better in 10 league matches and .500 or better in seven. 

Limback also earned her first-career All-Summit recognition as she recorded double-digit kills in all 16 Summit league matches this season. Her 3.48 kills per set ranks fifth overall in the league and her 241 total kills rank second. Limback also tallied two double-doubles in conference play and hit .300 or better in eight of the 16 league matches. The sophomore also earned Summit League Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. 

As a freshman setter, Clarkson ranked second in the league with 11.41 assists per set. Clarkson's 737 total assists in conference play were the most in the league. Over the course of 16 matches in league play, Clarkson recorded seven double-doubles and six matches of 50 or more assists. 

Lastly, libero Claire Mountjoy garnered All-Summit Honorable Mention honors. A former Summit League Defensive Player of the Week honoree, Mountjoy has been a staple as the Maverick libero over the past three seasons. The junior and Omaha native finished the regular season ranked third in the league with 4.44 digs per set. She also ranked second with 520 total digs. She also had four 20-plus dig matches in league play this season. 

The fourth-seeded Mavericks set their sights on a quarterfinal matchup against No. 5 North Dakota State tomorrow (Nov. 22) at 4 p.m. (CST) in The Summit League Championships presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare. Fans can follow the action along via OMavs.com.
