Mavericks Face Denver in Summit League Final

DENVER, Colo. – The Omaha men's soccer team meets third-seeded Denver in the Summit League Final on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. CT in Denver, Colo.
 
The winner will earn the league's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.

  • Saturday's title match is the fourth consecutive year the Mavericks and Pioneers will face each other with an NCAA automatic bid on the line.

 Scouting the Denver Pioneers
The Denver Pioneers advanced to the title match after knocking off No. 2 Oral Roberts behind a pair of penalty kicks.
 
The Pioneers have scored 20 goals in 19 matches this season. The Denver offense is taking 11.5 shots per match with 43.1 percent of those on target. Eight different players have scored goals for the Pioneers this season.
 
The Denver defense has given up 24 goals while tallying five shutouts. Opponents are shooting 12.1 shots per match, including 37 percent of those on goal. Goalkeeper Will Palmquist is 5-10-2 on the season with 48 saves, a .686 save percentage and 1.23 goals-against average.
 
Pioneers to Watch
No. 9 Preston Judd – tied with a team-high 13 points while leading the Pioneers with six goals.
No. 19 Josh Drack – totaled 13 points with five goals and team-high three assists.
No. 91 Kengo Ohira – posted three goals in 16 appearances.
 
Denver vs. Omaha
Denver leads the all-time series with Omaha, 8-1-2. The Pioneers won 2-0 earlier this season with a pair of penalty kicks on Oct. 26 in Denver, Colo.
