POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Omaha men's golf team wrapped up the fall season with an 11th-place finish at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
The Mavericks closed the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 283, their lowest round of the event and third-lowest of the fall, to finish at 868 in the 15-team tournament. North Dakota State won the tournament with a score of 826. Host Old Dominion was second at 830, and Georgetown was third at 838.
Senior
Nick Kagy led the Mavericks in scoring with a three-under total of 210, good for a tie for 13th in the field of 79 golfers. After shooting consecutive even-par rounds of 71 on day one, Kagy closed with a three-under score of 68. After bogeying the first hole, No. 10, he posted five birdies in the next eight holes and had just one bogey against eight pars on the inward nine.
Witchayapat Sinsrang posted UNO's low round of the final day with a score of 67, four under par. He had five birdies in the first 10 holes and six total for his round. He posted a total of 213, even par for the tournament and finished in a tie for 28th.
Josh Peters was third on the team and tied for 53rd overall with a total score of 221. His final round was a two-over score of 73.
Josh Bartels finished 69th at 230, a score that included a final round of 78. He was two strokes ahead of teammate
Phoomintr Kaewvichien who shot 75 in round three for a total of 232 to tie for 70th.
