POWELLS POINT, N.C. – Senior
Nick Kagy shot back-to-back even-par rounds to lead the Omaha men's golf team through the first two rounds of the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion.
The Mavericks are 13th in the field of 15 teams with a score of 585 that includes rounds of 292 and 293. North Dakota State leads the 54-hole event with a score of 554. Old Dominion is second, just one stroke back, and Drexel is third at 557.
Kagy posted two rounds of 71 to put him at 142, good for a tie for 25th among the 78 players. He's four strokes ahead of
Witchayapat Sinsrang who shot scores of 72 and 74 for a total of 146 that has him tied for 43rd.
Josh Peters is third on the team and tied for 51st overall with a total of 148 that includes rounds of 79 and 69, a team best.
Josh Bartels is tied for 63rd with a score of 152. He posted rounds of 73 and 79.
Phoomintr Kaewvichien rounded out the team scoring with cards of 76 and 81 for a total of 157.
The tournament, which was condensed from three days to two because of weather on Sunday, concludes on Tuesday at 7 a.m. CT. It will be the Mavericks' final round of the fall season.
