Mavericks Tie For Sixth at Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Omaha men's golf team got an even-par performance from senior Witchayapat Sinsrang while tying for sixth at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate at Arkansas State on Tuesday.

The Mavericks posted a team total of 298 on the final day to post a 54-hole score of 891, tying them with Northern Iowa.  They now have posted seven consecutive rounds under 300.

The host Red Wolves won their event with a score of 829.  Oral Roberts was second at 856, and UT Arlington was third at 867.

Sinsrang shot a one-under-par round of 71 on the final day to put him at 216 for the event.  That helped him tie for ninth in the field of 74 golfers.

Phoomintr Kaewvichien was 35th overall with a score of 224, a total that included a final round of 71.  He was three strokes ahead of teammate Nick Kagy who shot 79 on Tuesday for a total of 227.  He tied for 47th.

Josh Bartels and Josh Peters tied for fourth on the team and 50th overall with matching scores of 230.  Bartels shot 77 in round three while Peters carded an 80.

Parker Waters, playing as an individual, closed with a round of 84 for a final score of 247.

The Mavericks finish the fall season at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion from Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 20-22 in Powells Point, N.C.
