Men's Soccer Hosts Utah Valley to Conclude Homestand

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha men's soccer team wraps up its four-match homestand this Friday night when Utah Valley visits Caniglia Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

•    Diego Gutierrez leads the team with nine shots with three being on goal.
•    Marcos Bautista and Seth Rinderknecht have five shots each with two of Bautista's shot being on goal.
•    Mitch Hammer made his first career start for the Mavericks while Ugo Tritz made his first appearance of the season.
•    Omaha has lost three-straight matches to start the season for the first time in program history.
•    The Summit League placed Rinderknecht and Stevie Sit on the League's Players to Watch list.
•    UNO qualified for the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament for the first time in program history in 2017.
•    Omaha, which has been a member of the Summit League since 2012, has two Summit League regular-season titles and one tournament crown in seven years.

Scouting Omaha
Omaha is 0-3 this season following a 2-0 loss to Missouri State last Friday.  UNO was 7-1-2 at home last season, including a record of 5-1-1 in non-conference games.

The Mavericks return 17 letterwinners, including five starters from last season's squad.  This year's new-look team has 13 newcomers, including four transfer athletes.

Bob Warming is in his first season as head coach of the Mavericks, posting a 0-3-0 record.  Warming is the third-winningest active NCAA Division I coach with 461 wins.

Scouting Utah Valley
Utah Valley is coming off a 6-1 loss at CSUN last weekend, putting it at 3-1-0 for the year.  The Wolverines opened the season with three-straight wins before Sunday's setback.  UVU plays Memphis on Sunday at Creighton's Morrison Stadium.

Utah Valley has filled the net this season, scoring 11 goals so far.  Zach Mass leads the attack with three goals.  Austin Buxton, Blake Frischknecht and Luis Vargas add two goals each.  Buxton, Luis Garza and Zahir Vazquez have dished out two assists apiece.

Joseph Wheelwright is 3-0 on the season with a 0.40 goals-against average and a .857 save percentage.  Elliot Rubio has made two appearances with one start.

Series History with Utah Valley
Friday's game marks the second meeting all-time between Omaha and Utah Valley, and the Mavericks lead the series, 1-0.  UNO topped UVU last season 3-1 in Orem, Utah.

The Mavericks hit the road for only time in the first six matches of the 2018 seaspm on Wednesday, Sept. 12, as Omaha takes on UCLA.  Wednesday's match starts at 9 p.m. (CT).
