OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha head swimming and diving coach Todd Samland announced the 2018-19 schedule Tuesday.

The schedule features nine non-league meets throughout the regular season and four home dates.

"This is another challenging schedule we have put together this year," said Samland. "We are able to schedule some very strong mid-major programs that have tradition for being successful and we are also scheduling very good Power Five schools to challenge our athletes at the next level.

"The focus is to complete the season at our highest at our Summit League Championships meet with incentive of carrying that success into the post-conference arena.  This schedule will create a process for us to prepare for those meets."

Omaha opens the season Oct. 5 against Northern Iowa at home, followed by an Oct. 15 meet at Air Force. The Mavericks officially open Summit League competition at Western Illinois Nov. 2, followed by a meet at Illinois State the following day, Nov. 3. The Maverick swimmers travel to Topeka, Kan. for the Kansas Classic Nov. 16-18, while the divers head to the Hawkeye Invite for a two-day event in Iowa City, Iowa from Nov. 15-17.

A quick trip to the University of Sioux Falls on Dec. 18 precedes back-to-back home meets, as the Mavericks welcome a duo of Power Five opponents in Iowa State Friday, Jan. 11, and Nebraska on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Omaha travels to Vermillion, S.D. to take on South Dakota Saturday, Jan. 19 before returning home against South Dakota Sate on Jan. 25.

The Maverick swimmers close out the regular season at the Coyote Invitational Feb. 1-2, which takes place in Sioux Falls, S.D., while the divers travel to the UIC Diving Invitational in Chicago, Ill on Feb. 2.

The Summit League Championships take place in Sioux Falls, S.D. from Feb. 20-23, followed by the CSCAA National Invitational Championships March 14-16 in Cleveland, Ohio. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 20-23.
