OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha volleyball team took to Baxter Arena in front of fans for the first time this season Friday evening for the Black/White Scrimmage.
The Omaha White team prevailed 3-1 over the Omaha Black team in four sets (19-25, 28-26, 25-14, 25-18).
Sophomore Jaclyn Taylor tallied a double-double of 30 assists and 12 digs with six blocks for the Omaha Black team, while Maggie Meyer and Mackenzie Horkey added 12 digs apiece.
For the Omaha White team, Courtney Morehead recorded a match-high 19 digs, followed by teammate Kenzie Michalek, who had 17. Alexa Blase and Sadie Limback totaled a team-high eight kills each for Omaha White.
The trio of Isabella Sade, Anna Blaschko and Rylee Marshall played for both squads during the match as middle blockers. Sade recorded nine kills and four blocks, Marshal finished with four kills and eight combined blocks, while Blaschko totaled six kills and five blocks.
The Mavericks now shift their focus to the regular season opener, the New Orleans Invitational, where they will take on New Orleans, Murray State and Houston in New Orleans, La. Competition is set to take place from Aug. 24-25.
