SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha women's tennis team picked up a 4-3 win over conference foe South Dakota Saturday night. The win keeps the Mavericks undefeated in conference play at 12-9 (3-0 Summit League), while the Coyotes drop to 8-10 (2-1 Summit League).
Omaha jumped to a 1-0 lead when it won two out of the three doubles matches. The freshman duo of
Savanna Crowell and
Natalie Lorentz escaped Barbora Kollarova and Nanette Nylund at the No. 2 position, 7-6, and the No. 1 doubles pair of
Michelle Lo and
Janelle Wilson battled past Anastasiia Bondarenko and Jana Lazarevic, 7-6.
In singles competition, Wilson edged Kollarova at No. 2, 7-6, 6-2. Lorentz followed by defeating Bondarenko at No. 4, 6-2, 0-6, 6-1.
Emily Behling clinched the match at No. 5 when she outlasted Luana Stanciu, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

Adam Summitt said. "I am so incredibly proud of this team. They continue to impress me every day with their grit, effort and attitude. They continue to set records for this program with the most wins in a season since making the switch to Division I and for the first time, qualifying for the conference tournament.
"South Dakota is a very good team, and we knew we had to play well to beat them. The players really stepped up today, and we look to keep this rolling."
The Mavericks return to action on Friday, April 13, when they travel to Vermillion, S.D. for a neutral site match with Summit League foe Denver at 3 p.m.
