NEWTON, Kan. – The Omaha men's golf team dropped one place to seventh after the second round of the Summit League Championship at windy Sand Creek Station Golf Club.
The Mavericks shot a team round of 326 on Monday and now sit at 631 for the 54-hole event. North Dakota State and Denver are tied for first at 608. South Dakota is in third at 612.
For the second straight day,
Thirawat Chantrakantanond shot UNO's low round of the day. He carded a five-over total of 77 and now is at 149 for the championship, good for fifth in the field of 40 golfers.
Jonah Wright is second on the team and tied for 23rd overall with a score of 158 that includes a round of 81 on day two. Wright is three strokes ahead of
Sam Musch who shot 80 in the middle round and has a 36-hole score of 161, good for a tie for 30th.
Both
David Huxham and
Cole Christain fired matching rounds of 88 and are four-five in scoring for the Mavericks with totals of 165 and 167 respectively. Huxham is 36th while Christain is 38th.
The final round begins Tuesday at 8 a.m.
