EL MACERO, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team took over 12th place after the second round of the El Macero Classic.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 321 for a two-round total of 643. They had been tied for 12th after round one. Nevada continues to lead the event at 575. Texas Tech is second at 590, and UCLA is in third at 593.
Jonah Wright continues to pace the Mavericks in scoring with a 36-hole total of 158. He shot a round of 80 on Saturday and sits in a tie for 55th.
David Huxham also carded a round of 80 to put him at 160 through two rounds, good for a tie for 62nd. Pat Ravn is three strokes back at 163 after posting a round of 82 on the middle day of the event at the El Macero Country Club. He's tied for 68th.
Thirawat Chantrakantanond had UNO's low round of the day, 79, and is at 164 for the tournament, good for a tie for 70th.
Cole Christain shot his second straight round of 83 and is at 166 for the event.
The final round begins at 9:30 a.m. CT on Sunday.
