Mavericks Tied For 12th After Day One at El Macero

EL MACERO, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team is tied for 12th place after the first round of the El Macero Classic hosted by UC Davis and Nevada.

The Mavericks shot a team score of 322 to deadlock them with Sacramento State after the first 18 holes of the 54-hole event.  Nevada leads the event with a score of 291, three over par.  UCLA is second at 296, and UC Davis is third at 299.

Jonah Wright led the Mavericks in scoring on day one with a total of 78, tying him for 45th in the field of 80 players.

David Huxham is second on the team and tied for 56th after a round of 80.  He's one stroke ahead of Pat Ravn who carded an 81 to put him in a tie for 61st.

Cole Christain fired an 83 to put him in a tie for 72nd while Thirawat Chantrakantanond posted a score of 79.

The second round begins at 10 a.m. CT from the El Macero Country Club.
