Mavericks Finish 12th at Sacramento State

ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team took 12th place at the Sacramento State Invitational on Tuesday.

The Mavericks shot a final round team score of 308, their lowest of the event, to finish with a score of 939 for the 54-hole tournament.  Grand Canyon and Long Beach State tied for first with scores of 870.  UC Irvine was third, one stroke back.

Kevin Gordon fired his second consecutive round of 72, even par, to finish at 219 for the event.  That put him first on the team and in a tie for 11th in the 72-player field.

Cole Christain was second on the team and tied for 46th overall with a score of 230 that included a final-round score of 76.  David Huxham shot 79 on Tuesday and finished with a total of 245, good for 67th overall.

Thirawat Chantrakantanond was one stroke back at 246 after a final round of 82.  He was 68th.  Patrick Ravn finished the scoring for UNO with a total of 252.  He shot 81 in the final round.

The Mavericks return to action at the Grand Canyon Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 16-17.
