ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team is 12th after the first two rounds of the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday.
The Mavericks shot team rounds of 318 and 313 to put them at 631 after 36 holes at the Valley Hi Country Club. Long Beach State has the lead with a score of 579. UC Irvine is second at 582, and UC Santa Barbara holds third with a total of 584.
Kevin Gordon is UNO's top scorer through the first two rounds with scores of 75 and even-par 72, good for a total of 147. He's tied for 14th in the field of 72 golfers.
Cole Christain is second on the team and tied for 48th with a total of 154 that includes rounds of 76 and 78.
Thirawat Chantrakantanond shot matching scores of 82 for a total of 164, putting him third on the team and in a tie for 67th.
David Huxham is 70th with scores of 85 and 81 that put him at 166 through the first two rounds.
Patrick Ravn closed out the scoring for UNO, shooting 87 and 84 for a total of 171.
The final round begins at 10:30 a.m. CT.
