PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Omaha men's tennis team swept a doubleheader from Prairie View A&M on Tuesday. The Mavericks won the opener 4-1 and completed the sweep with a 4-0 win. With the sweep, Omaha is now 8-12 on the season while Prairie View dropped to 4-17.
Omaha 4, Prairie View A&M 1
The Panthers won two doubles matches to claim the doubles point and took a 1-0 lead.
The two teams battled throughout singles play with Omaha eventually gaining the momentum.
Luke Moorhead put the Mavericks on the board with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6.
Matt Dunn came away with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4.
Nathan Reekie put UNO in front 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2.
Alex Woodward clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3.
Omaha 4, Prairie View A&M 0
The Mavericks jumped out to an early lead and did not look back as they shutout Prairie View A&M 4-0 in the second match of the day.
Abdoul Ouattara and
Alex Woodward dispatched Xavier Lawrence and Anirudh Yadav 6-0 at No. 2.
Matt Dunn and
Luke Moorhead finished off Zachary Suico and Kevin Ugarteche 6-2 at No. 3 claiming the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
Omaha continued its dominance in singles play.
Razvan Grigorescu made quick work of Xavier Lawrence at No. 1, 6-2, 6-2. At No. 6,
Marko Minic defeated Cesar Reyna 7-5, 6-0. Moorhead's 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 clinched the match for the Mavericks.

Head coach Tyson Thomas: "We played a tough match yesterday, and it showed as we got off to a slow start in doubles. We got going in singles and carried that momentum the rest of the day. We are competing with more discipline. We are starting to feel the constant focus needed to fight and win at the level we are aspiring to.
