OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Drake, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at Miracle Hill Tennis Center. The loss puts the Mavericks at 2-4 (0-0 Summit League) on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-0 (0-0 MVC).
In doubles competition, the No. 3 pair of junior
Janelle Wilson and freshman
Marie Kapelevich had no problem with Mela Jaglarz and Megan Webb, winning by a score of 6-1. Drake claimed victory in the other two matches to secure the first point of the match.
DU then took five of the six singles matches to clinch the win. Kapelevich, Omaha's lone singles winner at No. 5, cruised by Jaglarz, 6-2, 6-1.
Omaha returns to the courts Sunday morning, taking on North Dakota at 9 a.m. at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
