STILLWATER, Okla. – The Omaha men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 10 Oklahoma State on Friday evening at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
In doubles action, Oklahoma State proved tough to handle with Omaha falling short at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, both falling 6-2.
Razvan Grigorescu fell 6-2, 6-2 to No. 84 Artur Dubinski at No. 1. Oklahoma State then clinched the match with straight-set wins at No. 3 and No. 5.
"Oklahoma State has a strong team and is very well coached," head coach
Tyson Thomas said. "Our guys fought well, and it's good for them to be exposed to this level of tennis.
Abdoul Ouattara dropped a close match at No. 2 to Mathieu Scaglia, 7-6 (4), 6-4.
"Abdoul played some great tennis to put himself in position to win, it's just unfortunate that a couple of things didn't go his way in the first set tiebreaker," Thomas said.
Omaha returns to the court next weekend, visiting Iowa. First serve from Iowa City, Iowa is set for 5 p.m.
