SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Omaha men's golf team is in 13th place following the first two rounds of the The Invitational at Savannah Harbor.
The Mavericks shot team rounds of 298 and 303 to sit at 601, +25 for the tournament at The Club at Savannah Harbor. It is their spring season opener.
Host William and Mary leads with a 36-hole total of 563, three strokes ahead of South Carolina Beaufort. Austin Peay is third at 572.
David Huxham and
Thirawat Chantrakantanond paced the Mavericks in scoring with total scores of 146, two over par. Huxham shot 75 and 71, and Chantrakantanond carded rounds of 72 and 74. They are tied for 21st overall in the field of 83 golfers
Cole Christain in third on the team and tied for 63rd overall with a score of 155 that included rounds of 77 and 78.
Sam Musch and
Kelly Brown tied for fourth on the team with scores of 157. Musch shot 77 and 80, and Brown went 74 and 83. They are tied for 69th.
The final round begins at 7:15 a.m. CT.
