SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha swimming & diving program picked up a 169.5 – 124.5 dual meet win over Sioux Falls Tuesday afternoon.

The Mavericks picked up wins in eight different events to gain their second dual meet victory on the season.

"Sioux Falls has some outstanding swimmers, and we saw some very good racing today," said head coach Todd Samland. "This was a total team win with everybody contributing points. After the previous week being focused on finals, I was very happy to see how our athletes performed today."

Rachel Morrow led the Mavericks with four top finishes. The junior from Katy, Texas, won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.84, and followed up with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle (53.06). Morrow also tied for first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.54 seconds.

Lastly, she was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team with fellow Mavericks Madison Ewald, Anna Capoun and Kirsten Kracke for a first-place finish with a time of 1:38.55.

Kylie Vermeire earned two first-place finishes in the 1,000 and 500-yard freestyle races. Vermeire swam a 10:50.88 in the 1000-yard freestyle, while she recorded a 5:13.19 in the 500 free for a pair of top finishes.

The divers swept the competition in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Annika Clinton won both events with a 2.55.30 in the 1-meter and a 249.15 in the 3-meter.

The Mavericks are off until the weekend of Jan. 11-12, where they return home to take on Iowa State and Nebraska. Omaha battles the Cyclones Friday, Jan. 11, and follows up with another dual home meet against the Huskers Saturday, Jan. 12. Competition is slated to take place at the H&K Pool.
