Volleyball Concludes Regular Season at Oral Roberts

OMAHA, Neb. --  Omaha volleyball wraps up its regular season with a road match at Oral Roberts Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla.

Opening Serve
• Omaha has locked up the No. 3 seed in The Summit League Championship in Denver, Colo., which takes place Nov. 16-18.
• The Mavericks aim for a season sweep over the Golden Eagles this Sunday.
• Throughout the entire season, Sydney Case leads The Summit League with 11.07 assists per set and ranks 25th in the nation.
Isabella Sade ranks second in the league with a .348 hitting percentage and Claire Mountjoy ranks fifth in the league with 4.01 digs per set.
• Omaha ranks second in league play for hitting percentage at .234.
• The Mavericks also ranks second in league play with 1.45 aces per set, but also have struggled getting the ball over the net with a league-high 175 serving errors.
 
Scouting the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles
Oral Roberts is vying for a seed in The Summit League Championship with a 6-8 league record. The Golden Eagles are tied with North Dakota in league play with identical records behind Denver (24-1), South Dakota (11-3), Omaha (11-4) and Purdue Fort Wayne (7-7).
 
Oral Roberts is 9-17 overall under 16th year head coach Sheera Sirola, who has a career mark of 279-210. Omaha trails the all-time series to Oral Roberts 6-8. In the last meeting against the Golden Eagles, the Mavericks won in straight sets behind the Case's double-double of 44 assists and 11 digs as well as Sade's 12 kills.
 
The Golden Eagles are trying to bounce back from a two-match skid at Denver (lost 3-0) and at South Dakota State (lost 3-2). Prior to the match against Omaha, ORU takes on North Dakota State Friday evening at home.
 
Last Time Out
Recently, the Mavericks split the week against South Dakota and Western Illinois. Omaha fell 3-0 to South Dakota at home and came back from a two-set deficit at Western Illinois to win in five on the road.
 
Against Western Illinois, the last time Omaha won a match after being down two sets was against IUPUI in the semifinal round of The Summit League Championship on Nov. 21, 2015 (23-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12, 15-9).
