Volleyball Opens Tournament Play Against North Dakota State

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha volleyball battles North Dakota State in the quarterfinal round of The Summit League Championship. The match is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. (CT) in Denver, Colo.

OPENING SERVE
• Omaha has locked up the No. 3 seed in The Summit League Championship, while North Dakota State is the No. 6 seed.
• The Mavericks finished third in the league standings at 12-4 overall, which ties for the best regular season record in program history since joining the Division I era.
• The last time the Mavericks went 12-4 was in 2015, where the team advanced to The Summit League Championship final before falling to Denver in five sets as the No. 3 seed.
• Omaha swept North Dakota State in both previous meetings earlier this season.
• The Mavericks take on the Bison in the opening round of the league tournament for the second consecutive season.
• Omaha's 2017 campaign ended last year off a 3-1 defeat to North Dakota State in the tournament.
• Overall, Omaha is 2-2 in Summit League Championships since joining the league in 2011.
Sydney Case leads the league with 11.07 assists per set, while Isabella Sade is second amongst league members with a .347 hitting percentage.
Anna Blaschko ranks behind Sade and is tied for fourth in the league with a .328 hitting percentage.

• The Mavericks have played in seven total matches this season that have gone five sets.
 
ADDING TO THE HARDWARE
Four Mavericks earned All-Summit League recognition following the end of the regular season, as announced Thursday evening.
 
Sydney CaseIsabella SadeAnna Blaschko and Sadie Limback all earned recognition from a voting panel comprised of the league's coaches. 
 
Case notched Freshman and Setter of the Year honors, along with earning All-Summit and All-Freshman accolades. Sade garnered a spot on the All-Summit team, while Blaschko earned Honorable Mention and CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-District honors. Lastly, Limback earned a spot on the all-freshman team.
 
SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA STATE
The Bison are 8-19 overall and 6-10 in league play. Omaha swept the Bison in both meetings this season and own the all-time series 45-42. Head coach Jennifer Lopez is in her second season with the Bison and has a 27-28 career record.
