Four Mavericks Garner All-Summit Recognition

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Four Mavericks earned All-Summit League recognition following the end of the regular season, as announced Thursday evening.

Sydney Case, Isabella Sade, Anna Blaschko and Sadie Limback all earned recognition from a voting panel comprised of the league's coaches.

Case garnered a quartet of honors including Summit League Freshman of the Year, Summit League Setter of the Year, All-Summit and All-Freshman team. In her stellar debut season, the Lakeville, Minn., native earned Summit League Offensive Player of the Week three times in a single season which marked the most ever by a player in program history for the Division I era.

She finished the year with a league-leading 11.07 assists per set and also had the program's first triple-double for a single match (Oct. 19) since 2013. Case also finished with a team-high eight double-doubles, nine matches of 50 or more assists and earned a spot on the Omaha Challenge All-Tournament Team. She also is the first Maverick to win Setter of the Year in the league and joins Sade as the second-ever Omaha player to garner Freshman of the Year honors.

After an impressive freshman season, Sade carried over her success into her sophomore campaign garnering All-Summit recognition. The middle blocker ranked second in the league with a .347 hitting percentage and earned all-tournament honors in the Omaha Challenge, K-State Invitational and New Orleans Invitational. A native of Marion, Iowa, Sade finished the regular season with 18 matches of double-digit kills including a career-high of 23 against North Dakota State on Oct. 21.

Blaschko earned All-Summit Honorable Mention as a sophomore, tying for third in the league with a .328 hitting percentage at the end of the regular season. The Shakopee, Minn., native also earned a spot earlier this season on the CEFCU All-Tournament Team where she tallied her first-career double-double of 11 kills and a career-high of 13 blocks on Sept. 14 at Bradley. The middle blocker had a career-high of 17 kills against Milwaukee (Sept. 14).

Limback has made an impact during her freshman season with a spot on the All-Freshman team. The outside hitter from Waverly, Mo., was named the Most Valuable Player of the Omaha Challenge earlier in the season and has totaled five double-doubles thus far. She had a career-best of 18 kills against Milwaukee and ranked ninth in the league with a team-leading 2.86 kills per set.

The third-seeded Mavericks open play at The Summit League Championships on Friday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. against the No. 6 seeded North Dakota State Bison. Links for live streaming, audio and stats can be accessed on OMavs.com.
