OMAHA, Neb. – After more than two weeks on the road, the Omaha men's soccer team returns to Caniglia Field this Saturday, Oct. 20, against Florida Gulf Coast.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

•    Omaha returns to Caniglia Field for the first time since Oct. 3.
•    The Mavericks lost a 3-1 decision against Bradley on Tuesday in Peoria, Ill.
•    Redshirt freshman 
Mitch Hammer scored his first career goal on an assist from 
Martin Veys.
•    Omaha had road matches against Drake (Oct. 6) and SMU (Oct. 9) canceled due to field conditions.
•    Sophomore 
Diego Gutierrez leads the Mavericks in points (18), goals (7), assists (4), shots (36) and shots on goal (19) through 10 contests.  He is third in The Summit League in points, goals, assists and shots.
•    Sophomore 
Matt Smith has allowed the fewest goals in the league (seven) while teammate junior 
Ugo Tritz is second with eight goals against.
•    Tritz is second in save percentage (.778), fourth in goals-against average (1.19) and fifth in saves (28).
•    The Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll picked Omaha to finish second.  The Mavericks garnered 22 total points, including two first-place votes.
•    Junior

Stevie Siy earned spots on the league's Players to Watch list.
•    UNO captured the 2017 Summit League Tournament championship by defeating regular-season champion Denver 9-8 in an 11 round shootout.  The victory allowed Omaha to qualify for the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament for the first time in program history.
•    UNO became a member of the Summit League in 2012 and claimed a share of two league regular-season crowns and one postseason tournament title in seven seasons.
Scouting the Omaha Mavericks
The Mavericks are 3-6-1 overall and 2-1 in Summit League action following a 3-1 non-conference loss to Bradley on Tuesday in Peoria.  The Mavericks are 1-4-1 at home and 2-2 on the road this season.
Diego Gutierrez leads the Mavericks in every scoring category this season with 18 points on seven goals and four assists.  
Martin Veys is next with seven points on three goals and an assist, while 
Marcos Bautista has three points on a goal and an assist.

Billy Hoffmann have the remaining Omaha goals.  
Seth Rinderknecht and senior 
Denzel Woods have two assists each.
Ugo Tritz has appeared in seven games with six starts and has a 3-2-1 record.  Tritz has allowed eight goals and made 28 saves with two shutouts.  
Matt Smith has started four matches and has an 0-4 record.  Smith has allowed seven goals with eight saves.
Bob Warming is in his first season as head coach of the Mavericks, posting a 3-6-1 record.  Prior to Omaha, Warming had stops at Penn State (2010-17), Creighton (1990-94, 2001-09), St. Louis (1997-2000), Old Dominion (1996), Charlotte (1982-88), Barry (1977-81) and Transylvania (1976).  He is the third-winningest active NCAA Division I coach with 464 victories.
Scouting the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles
•    Florida Gulf Coast is 7-4-1 overall and 3-1 in Atlantic Sun action.
•    The Eagles fell 5-1 on Tuesday to No. 19 UCF in Orlando, Fla.
•    FGCU is 3-1-1 at home and 4-3 on the road.
•    They are outscoring the opposition 23-18, but are outshot 175-147 this season.
•    Head coach Jesse Cormier is in his second season at FGCU with a mark of 15-10-4 and is 129-99-51 in 15 seasons.  Cormier spent 13 seasons as the head coacha t Vermont with a record of 114-89-47.
•    Assistant coach Sheldon Cipriani and Ian Spooner round out the FGCU coaching staff.
Tracking the Eagles
•    No. 17 Shak Adams (F, Jr.) leads the team with 21 points on seven goals and seven assists.
•    No. 21 O'Vonte Mullings (F, Fr.) has 15 points on six goals and three assists.
•    No. 9 Joao Burti (F, Jr.) adds seven points on three goals and an assist.
•    No. 11 Kareem Riley (MF, So.) has four assists.
•    No. 1 Gustavo Vasconcelos (GK, RSO.) is 6-3-1 this season with a 1.47 goals-against average and .776 save percentage.
•    No. 29 Connor Gavigan (GK, RSo.) is 1-1 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .700 save percentage. 
Series History
Saturday's is the second all-time meeting between Omaha and Florida Gulf Coast.  FGCU defeated UNO 3-2 last season in Fort Meyers, Fla.
