Mavericks Compete at Air Force in First Road Meet

USAF, Colo. – The Omaha swimming and diving program competed in its first road meet of the regular season at Air Force.

The Mavericks fell 149-73 to the Falcons Monday, Oct. 15.

Omaha picked up multiple individual victories at the meet, including Rachel Morrow's finals time of 25.00 in the 50-yard free to finish first. Kirsten Kracke also posted a top-five performance, finishing third in the event (25.02), followed by Madison Ewald in fifth (24.04).

Grete Baker tallied a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.82. Kylene Abraham (54.91), Bethany Gatlin (55.60) and Anna Capoun (55.74) finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 100-yard freestyle.  

In the 500-yard freestyle, Kylie Vermeire (5:23.14), Abbey Mitchell (5:38.09) and Rebecca Martini (5:43.81) tallied second, third and fourth-place finishes in the event.

The Mavericks also had four in the top-5 in the 100-yard backstroke in Kracke (1:02.38, second), Isabelle Robuck (1:05.02, third), Madison Ewald (1:06.39, fourth) and Sydney Schneider (1:07.65, fifth).

For the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Morrow, Abraham, Ewald and Kracke finished runner-up in the event with a time of 1:39.35.

Omaha returns to action Friday, Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. for a Summit League meet at Western Illinois.
