Men's Soccer Concludes Homestand Saturday against Fort Wayne

OMAHA, Neb. – No. 24 Omaha returns to Summit League play on Saturday, Sept. 30 when it hosts Fort Wayne at Caniglia Field.  The match starts at 7 p.m.

Scouting Report: Omaha
The Mavericks look to snap a two-game winless streak and record its first league win of the year.  Omaha is 7-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in Summit League play.  UNO is coming off a 1-0 home loss against crosstown foe and No. 25 Creighton on Tuesday evening.

Maverick Bites
  • Through ten games, five different Mavericks have scored a goal.  Overall, 11 different players have registered a point.  Ibisevic leads the team in scoring with six goals and an assist for 13 points.  Hamzat is second in scoring with five goals and an assist for 11 points.  Xavier Gomez is third with two goals and leads the team with four assists.  Eight UNO players have registered at least two points.
  • Omaha posted three straight 1-0 shutouts earlier this season, and have four clean sheets in 2017.
Scouting Report: Fort Wayne
Fort Wayne defeated Marshall, 2-1, on Tuesday to improve its record to 3-5-3.  The Mastodons are 0-1-0 in Summit action.

Oscar Uyamadu leads Fort Wayne in scoring with seven points on a team-high three goals and an assist.  Romain Lopez and Keelan Barker are right behind with four points on two goals.  Overall, 11 different players have scored at least one point for the Mastodons this season.

Will Hathaway and Brendan Stangel have evenly split time in goal for Fort Wayne in 2017.  Hathaway has played in six games with five starts and has a 3-2 record this season.  He has a 1.56 goals-against average and a .789 save percentage in 460:55 minutes.  Stangel also has played in six games with five starts and owns a 0-3-3 record.  He has a 1.53 goals-against average and a .737 save percentage in 589:05 minutes.

History vs. Fort Wayne
Saturday is the seventh all-time meeting between Omaha and Fort Wayne.  Each team has three wins, but the Mavericks have won the last two in the series.  UNO is 2-0 at home, but the Mastodons hold a 3-1 advantage in Fort Wayne.  Last season, the Mavericks topped the Mastodons 1-0 in Fort Wayne.

Caniglia Dominance
Since opening Caniglia Field in 2013, the Mavericks have dominated the opposition, going a combined 24-6-4 and outscoring opponents 69-31.  The Mavs have a record of 8-2-1 in Summit League action (2013-16) at Caniglia Field.  Since the inception of the program, UNO has a 30-14-5 home mark and has outscored opponents 90-56.

The Mavericks embark on a two-game road trip with games at Florida Gulf Coast (Oct. 4) and Michigan (Oct. 14).
