OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's tennis sophomore Razvan Grigorescu was invited to participate in the Oracle/ITA Master's Tournament hosted by Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.

"We couldn't be more happy for Razvan to get this opportunity against some of the nation's best players," said head coach Tyson Thomas. "The invitation to the Oracle Masters shows the work he puts into his game.  We're confident that he'll represent Omaha and the Summit well this weekend.

Grigorescu is just one of 32 tennis players from across the nation and the lone athlete from the Summit League to take part in the four-day tournament that begins Thursday.  One student-athlete represents each conference at the tournament along with six automatic bids.

Grigorescu was the Summit League Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Summit League team.  He finished the year ranked No. 109 in singles in the Oracle/ITA poll.  The Constanta, Romania, product played to a 19-7 singles record, 15-5 dual match mark and a 3-1 ledger in Summit League matches.  He qualified for the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Tournament last season before falling to No. 26 Harrison Scott of Texas in the opening round.

The tournament will run from Sept. 21-24, and the tournament draw will be made available on Thursday.
