Men's Tennis Welcomes IUPUI

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team continues conference play by hosting IUPUI on Saturday, April 9. The match will be held at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center at 10 a.m.

Omaha picked up its first conference victory of the season with a win over Western Illinois on Sunday, 7-0. The Mavs improved to 10-12 (1-1 Summit League) on the season.

Freshman Alex Woodward and sophomore Marko Minic each have eight singles wins on the season to lead the team.  Woodward is 8-11 while posting victories at the Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 positions. Minic is 8-12 with wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles. The pair has tied Erik Anderson's team record for number of singles wins in a season.


The team of junior Colin Buckley and sophomore Ignace Warson have a 6-11 record this season playing every match at No. 1. Anderson and Woodward also have six doubles wins on the season playing at No. 2 and No. 3.  Freshman Matt Dunn has been part of 11 doubles wins this season.

IUPUI enters the match with a 7-17 (2-0 Summit League) record on the season. David Beasley leads the Jaguars with a 10-13 singles record, picking up wins at the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 positions.  The Jaguars top doubles pair is Patrick McAuley and Matt Moe who are 9-11 on the season.

Omaha will continue conference play when they travel to Tulsa, Okla. to take on Oral Roberts on April 23 at 3 p.m.
