PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Omaha men's tennis team swept a doubleheader on Friday against Arkansas Pine Bluff. The Mavericks won both matches by the same score of 4-0.
Match One
Omaha 4 Arkansas Pine Bluff 0
The Mavericks got off on the right foot in the opening match by winning the doubles point. Matt Dunn and John Ellis earned the win at No. 3, 6-0. Erik Anderson and Alex Woodward clinched the point with a 6-1 win at No. 2.
Omaha continued to roll in singles play. Anderson won in straight sets at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0. Marko Minic also won his match at No. 4 by the same 6-0, 6-0 score. Dunn clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 2.
Match 2

In the second match, the two teams started with singles action first. Alex Woodward got things going for Omaha with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Colin Buckley picked up a win at No. 2 by a score of 6-3, 6-0. Marko Minic earned his second win of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Ignace Warson clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
The two teams did not play doubles as the Mavericks had clinched the match.
Omaha is now 9-12 on the year. The Mavericks host Western Illinois at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center on Sunday, April 3. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
