NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Omaha men's tennis team wrapped up the Louisiana portion of its Spring Break trip on Wednesday afternoon with a match against New Orleans.  The Mavericks won the doubles point, but the Privateers swept the singles action for a 6-1 victory.

Omaha is now 7-12 overall and 0-1 in Summit League play.

Omaha got off to a quick start by earning the doubles point.  Matt Dunn and John Ellis picked up a 6-0 win at No. 3 over Gonzalo Garcia and Nicolas Kramer.  New Orleans' Luis Albuquerque and Jeffrey Hsu earned a win at No. 1, 7-5.  Erik Anderson and Alex Woodward clinched the doubles point defeating Giacomo Adoncecchi and Karim Shokeir in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5).

Omaha was unable to maintain the momentum from doubles as New Orleans swept singles play.  Matt Dunn won the first set over Adonecchi at No. 2, 6-0, but dropped the next two sets.  At No. 6 singles, Anderson won the first set, but Karim Shokeir rallied to win the second and third sets.

Colin Buckley fell at No. 1 singles to Jeffrey Hsu 7-6 (2), 6-0.  Woodward lost a close match at No. 3, 7-5, 6-4.
