Mavericks Host Lamar on Tuesday

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's tennis wraps up a six match homestand on Tuesday morning against Lamar University.  First serve at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center is set for 10 a.m. starting with doubles action and singles following.

The Mavericks are coming off a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday.  They are 5-9 overall and 0-1 in Summit League play.

Freshman Alex Woodward leads the team with five wins this season and is 5-9 on the season.  Woodward has played matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 this season.  Freshman Sean Padios is 4-0 overall playing at No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6.  Junior Colin Buckley is 2-8 on the season playing every match at No. 1 singles.  Sophomore Ignace Warson is 3-4 this season at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.

The doubles pair of Buckley and Warson are 4-7 overall this season playing every match at No. 1.  Freshmen Matt Dunn and Brent McKnight are 4-3 this season at No. 2 and No. 3.

Lamar University is coming off a 4-2 win over No. 42 Iowa on Sunday and is 7-4 on the season.  The Cardinals top singles player is Sebastian Santibanez who is 7-4 on the season playing at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4.  Michael Feucht is 6-4 on the season at No. 1 singles.

Feucht and Benny Schweizer own a 7-2 mark playing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.  Jeandre Hoogenbozem and Nikita Lis have a 4-7 overall record playing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

The Mavericks hit the road next week for spring break starting with a match in New Orleans, Louisiana against the University of Alabama-Mobile on Monday, March 21.  The next day Omaha continues play in the Crescent City against Loyola-New Orleans at 10 a.m. and Nicholls State at 3 p.m.
