OMAHA, Neb. – Mark Moulton had a four-point night to lead the Omaha men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Cincinnati on Friday night at Caniglia Field.

The win was the first of the season for the Mavericks who improved to 1-2-0.  Cincinnati is now 0-1-2.

For the second time in three games, the Mavericks scored first.  Moulton made a nice touch pass in traffic to Felipe da Silva who headed home his first goal of the season in the 17th minute.  Logan Mendez also had an assist.

Just 1:36 later, the Mavericks doubled their lead.  Mendez, near the goal line on the left side, sent a perfect centering pass to Moulton who drilled home his first goal of the year.

Cincinnati responded in the 27th minute when Terence Carter headed home a cross from Alan Rovira.

The Mavericks regained their two-goal lead in the 82nd minute when Nick Miller collected a free kick from Moulton and booted it in just under the crossbar for his second goal of the year.

Moulton now leads the Mavericks in scoring with a goal and four assists for six points.

Omaha outshot the Bearcats, 9-3, in the game.  Josh Christensen improved to 1-1-0 in the Omaha goal with two saves.

The Mavericks finish their four-game home stand on Sunday when they host Belmont at 2 p.m. at Caniglia Field.
