Mark Moulton and
Felipe da Silva each scored second-half goals, but No. 4 UCLA took control early in a 5-2 exhibition win over the Omaha men's soccer team on Tuesday.
Leo Stolz, the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year and preseason national offensive player of the year, had a goal and three assists to spark the Bruins to a 4-0 lead by halftime.
The Mavericks struck early in the second half when Moulton headed home a pass from
Logan Mendez to make it 4-1 in the 50th minute. Six minutes later, UCLA's Javan Torre scored to increase the UCLA lead to 5-1.
Da Silva capped the scoring in the 68th minute on an assist from
Joe Marinkovich.
UCLA finished with a slight 13-9 shot advantage and had a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.
The Mavericks will finish the preseason with the Red-Black scrimmage on Saturday at 7 p.m. Admission is free to the public. UNO opens the regular season on Friday, Aug. 29 against Santa Clara at 7:30 p.m.
