Last Time Out
OMAHA, Neb. - Three goals in the second half helped an unbeaten Milwaukee team win its seventh straight game with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over the Omaha men's soccer team Wednesday at the UNO Soccer Field. The Mavericks (2-6-1) were the aggressor early on and took the lead on the Panthers (8-0-1) in the 42nd minute. Mark Moulton had his jersey pulled from behind in the box while contesting a cross, resulting in a penalty kick for the Mavs. Emir Alihodzic buried his second PK of the season to give UNO the 1-0 lead at 41:50. The goal was only the second time Milwaukee has trailed this season and the 1-0 halftime deficit for the Panthers was their first time trailing at the half all year. But in the second half, UWM struck for three goals, beginning with a penalty kick of its own at 65:21. Laurie Bell scored his sixth goal of the season on the PK to tie the match 1-1. Just 4:25 later, Aaron Horvat got free behind the Maverick defense on a through ball as they tried to pull an offsides trap. Right back James Ashcroft capped the scoring at 74:38, sending in a driven cross from an odd angle on the right sideline that caught everyone off guard and ended up in the back of the net.
