Series History
UNO leads the all-time series, 1-0. The Mavs' win over Kansas City was a historic one, as it came in UNO's first game as a men's soccer program. Omaha defeated UMKC, 2-1, on Aug. 26, 2011 in Kansas City, Mo., for the program's first win. Mo Salama scored the game-winner in the 64th minute off a corner kick. Logan Mendez also had a goal.

Mavs Suffer First Summit Defeat
The Mavericks fell 1-0 last Saturday at Fort Wayne, their first Summit League loss in four games this season. Omaha dominated play early on with a 6-0 shot advantage, but IPFW scored against the run of play in the 31st minute. Despite outshooting IPFW 13-11, the Mavs were unable to crack one past goalie Brandon Cloutier. Until last Saturday, the Mavs had scored in five straight games and had notched at least two goals in each of their previous four games.

Standings Watch
With seven points, UNO is alone in third place in The Summit League standings, two points behind second-place Kansas City and five points behind first-place Oakland. A win at Kansas City would vault the Mavs into second place with two games to play. The Mavs cannot qualify for the conference tournament, which the top four teams go to.

Stats Glance
The Mavericks are well represented in the national and Summit League statistics so far this season. Giovanni Giattino is sixth in Division I in assists per game (0.70) and is second in The Summit League with seven assists. Chava Garcia and Vance Rookwood are tied for sixth in The Summit League in points with 10 each. The Mavericks as a team are tied for 39th nationally in total assists (22) and are second in The Summit League. Omaha is second in The Summit League in goals per game (1.7). Eighteen of the Mavs' 22 goals have been scored by freshmen and sophomores.

Home Field Advantage
The Mavericks are 4-0 at the UNO Soccer Field this season with a goal difference of 13-3. Last year, the Mavs were 0-3 at home. With just one home match remaining on Oct. 28 against Oakland, the Mavericks are assured of a winning record at home this season.

Next Up for the Mavs
The Mavs return home for their final home match of the season next Sunday, Oct. 28 against Oakland at Noon at the UNO Soccer Field. Oakland is 4-0 in Summit League play heading into Saturday's game at Fort Wayne.
