Mavs Outdone 4-0 at Oral Roberts

Final Stats

TULSA, Okla.
- The UNO men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision on the road at Summit League foe Oral Roberts on Sunday afternoon in a game that was much closer for the majority of the match.

It was the Mavs' (1-6) sixth loss in a row, but UNO showed positive signs in the second half and was unlucky to get on the board after hitting the post. Oral Roberts is now 3-6 (1-1 Summit League) on the season.

Jarrett Hamilton scored in the 20th and 30th minutes to put the Golden Eagles up 2-0 at halftime.

The Mavericks came out strong in the second half. In the 54th minute, UNO's Tyler Dixon hit the post on a shot, and Joe Marinkovich collected the rebound and fired a shot on goal that was saved by ORU goalkeeper Nick Petolick. Vance Rookwood missed a shot high in the 58th minute, and the Mavs held Oral Roberts without a shot attempt for the first 20 minutes of the second half.

The Golden Eagles picked up two goals in the final eight minutes of the match to pull away. Tom Adams scored on a shot that just snuck into the goal after UNO goalie Josh Christensen got a hand on it in the 83rd minute. Adams added a second goal in the 88th minute to account for the final margin.

Oral Roberts outshot UNO overall, 20-8, and 9-2 in shots on goal. Six of the Mavs' eight shots came in the second half.

The Mavs travel to Memphis to face the Tigers on Tuesday, Oct. 11. UNO then returns home to play its last home game of the year on Friday, Oct. 14, against Fort Hays State.
