OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton forward Megan Neuvirth recorded 14 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and five steals to lead the Bluejays to a 93-68 exhibition win over Nebraska-Omaha Tuesday night at the Civic Auditorium.
Juniors #Jill Wolf and Alyssa Green# paced the Mavericks with 12 points apiece. Wolf converted on six of her seven field goal attempts while pulling down four rebounds. Green finished 5-19 from the field while adding five rebounds and a team-high five assists.
Freshman #Heather Pohl# was the only other Maverick to score in double figures, scoring 10 points off the bench.
Creighton used a balanced attack offensively to get past the Mavericks. Besides Neuvirth's strong performance, four other Bluejays scored in double figures. Kelsy Woodard led the Jays with 19 points and chipped in seven rebounds and five assists.
The Mavericks will open their regular season on Nov. 17 when they face intrastate rival Nebraska-Kearney. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. in Kearney, Neb.
