OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO women's basketball team sees its first action of the 2008-09 season when it plays crosstown neighbor Creighton University in exhibition action on Tuesday, Nov. 4.  Game time is 7:05 p.m. from the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

The Mavericks were 17-12 last year and 3-9 in their final season in the North Central Conference.  The Mavs will begin play in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association with its first league game on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Washburn University.

The Mavericks and Creighton have played 25 times over the years with the Mavs holding a 16-9 advantage in the all-time series.  However, the Bluejays have won the last six meetings.  The teams last faced off during the 1988-89 season when Creighton earned a 71-67 win.

UNO's first home game will be Wednesday, Nov. 19 when it hosts Dana College at the Sapp Fieldhouse.  Tip off is 5:30 p.m.
