Sapp Fieldhouse
Constructed in 1949-50 and renovated in 1997 and 2011, Sapp Fieldhouse is the base of operations for Omaha Athletics, housing athletic department offices, the strength & conditioning center, athletic training room, equipment room, physical therapy and academic center.
Sapp Fieldhouse is the practice facility for volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and track & field. The arena has four full-size basketball courts, two batting cages, a long jump pit and a tartan track. It served as the competition venue for women's basketball and volleyball teams until the 2015 construction of Baxter Arena and has 2,000 retractable seats, an elevated press box, concession stand and 15 locker rooms.
The Hamilton Academic Excellence Room provides student-athletes a private facility to receive help with their studies. It includes computer and printer stations, study areas, group study and tutoring rooms and access to full-time academic and compliance staff.
The Athletic Training Room is a 3,000-square foot facility and features a treatment/rehabilitation area, a hydrotherapy “SwimEx” room and a separate taping room.
Part of the $6.6 million expansion/renovation of Sapp Fieldhouse completed in the Fall of 1998, the 6,500-square foot Fieldhouse Weight Room is the primary strength & conditioning facility for nearly every Omaha team. There is also a dedicated physical therapy room and a state-of-the-art DARI motion analytics system.
