OMAHA, Neb. - The NCAA has announced today that Omaha Athletics' Executive Associate Athletic Director - Student Athlete Success/SWA Lindsey Ekwerekwu has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Committee on Academics.
"I am honored to have been appointed to the NCAA Division I Committee on Academics," explained Ekwerekwu. "The committee's work is dedicated to ensuring the best academic experiences and outcomes for student-athletes and I am truly looking forward the opportunity to help champion our most important stakeholders and their incredibly bright futures."
As part of the committee, Ekwerekwu's new responsibilities include sustaining and advancing the Association's mission, traditions, values and reputation. She will also serve as an advocate for the Association while speaking publicly on behalf of the committee.
The membership will last until August 31, 2026.
Lindsey arrived in Omaha in 2012 and served as the Director of Academic Success before being made Associate Athletic Director of Academics in 2013. She was further elevated to the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator in March of 2019, followed by Executive Associate AD for Student-Athlete Success in July of 2022.
