UNO Remains No. 1 in Final Poll of Regular Season

NCAA Division II Coaches Poll
EDMOND, Okla. - For the 14th straight poll, the University of Nebraska at Omaha wrestling team is the unanimous No. 1 team in the NCAA Division II wrestling rankings released on Feb. 17.
The Mavericks received all eight first-place votes in balloting of coaches from around the country to finish with 160 points in the final poll of the regular season. UNO has been No. 1 in the polls for the past two years, having topped the ranking in every poll in 2008-09 and again this season.
Four regional tournaments around the country will begin the weekend of Feb. 27-28 to determine the 160 individual qualifiers for the 2010 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. The tournament is set for March 12-13 inside Sapp Fieldhouse in Omaha.
Individually, the Mavs have wrestlers ranked in nine of the ten weight classes.
Senior Jacob Marrs remains the top-ranked wrestler at 197 pounds. Senior Cody Garcia who sports a 42-0 overall record on the year is No. 2 at 133 pounds. Mario Morgan (141) and Esai Dominguez (149) are both No. 3.
At 157, redshirt freshman George Ivanov moved from second to fifth. Ryan Pankoke kept his No. 4 ranking at 165 pounds. Aaron Denson moved from second to fifth at 174 pounds. Austin Boehm is No. 8 at 184, and Elijah Madison remains No. 2 at 285.
